Northwest Park is another popular destination that offers activities such as swimming, tennis courts, basketball, baseball and a children’s playground. Students in the community attend Austin ISD schools such as Gullet or Wooten Elementary, Burnet or Lamar Middle School and Lanier or McCallum High School.

Allandale Community Activities

Residents in the community benefit from a very active neighborhood association. The neighborhood still maintains some of its popular traditions such as its annual 4th of July parade (started in 1960 by the Rev. John Lovett). There is also the tradition of decorating yards across the neighborhood with six-foot tall candy canes during the holidays. Every spring, the Allandale residents take advantage of the annual community-wide garage sale.
