Barton Hills

Barton Hills is the ideal neighborhood for nature-lovers and music-lovers alike. Referred to as Austin’s most nature-friendly neighborhood, it features plenty of lush parks, pools and botanic gardens. Aside from being just south of Zilker Park, where the famous Austin City Limits music festival is held, the neighborhood is in close proximity to cafes that offer more laid-back alternatives to the downtown nightlife just a few miles away.

Located in the 78704 zip code, Barton Hills homes date back to the 1940s. It is named after Williams Barton, a pioneer who was one of the first settlers to develop Austin, Texas. The neighborhood is bordered by the Barton Creek and located in central Austin. The community is beautiful and hilly. Many of the houses have lawns with mature trees and lush greenery and come in a large number of shapes, colors, and sizes. Due to the hilly nature of the terrain, each street in Barton Hills feels different.

Barton Hills has become a popular location for young families and professionals because of its access to some of the best and most desirable schools in Austin. The educational institutions in the community include O. Henry Middle School, Austin High School, and Barton Hills Elementary.
